3. Paintings on Canvas & Masonite (HDF)
Paintings may be created on stretched canvas or Masonite/HDF panels. Masonite and HDF have been used by artists since the late 1920s and remain stable, archival substrates.
Each Masonite panel receives four coats of acrylic gesso before painting begins, creating a sealed, durable surface that ensures strong adhesion and long‑term stability.
4. Commissioned Projects
Custom artwork—including portraits, paintings, digital works, and large‑scale pieces—may be commissioned upon request. All commissions are individually estimated based on complexity and technical requirements.
Commission Payment Structure
First one‑third payment: due before work begins
Second one‑third payment: due after concept work is completed
Up to three concepts or comprehensives will be provided
One concept must be approved before final work begins
Final one‑third payment: due prior to shipping or delivery
Work begins only after the first payment is received. Final artwork ships only after full payment has cleared.
5. Large‑Scale Digital Prints
Large‑scale digital prints are available in a wide range of sizes, from poster‑scale to full billboard installations. Each project is estimated individually based on size, environment, and technical requirements.
Materials are selected according to what is best suited for the installation site and environmental conditions.
Installation services are not provided; however, Jaren will coordinate with your chosen installer or vendor to ensure the artwork is produced to the correct specifications.
6. Pricing
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change without notice.
7. Payment Policies
Accepted payment methods include: Visa • Mastercard • Debit cards • PayPal • Domestic checks • International SWIFT wire transfers
Funds Must Clear Before Shipping
No artwork ships until full payment has cleared the banking system.
8. Refunds & Overpayments
Refunds may be issued for the following reasons, such as duplicate payments, accidental overpayments, or billing errors. Refunds are issued only after funds have fully cleared the banking system.
Requests for adjustments or refunds must be made in writing. Any overpayment may be refunded directly to the original payer once funds have cleared. If a refund is not requested within 30 days of payment clearing, the overpayment will be recorded as a voluntary contribution supporting Jaren’s studio operations.
Sales Finality After Shipment
Once artwork has shipped, all sales are considered final. If artwork is lost or damaged in transit, compensation is provided through the carrier’s insurance coverage, subject to the limits of that coverage. Claims must be filed according to the carrier’s requirements.
Buyers may contact Jaren for details regarding the specific insurance coverage provided by the carrier for their shipment.
9. Shipping Policies
Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer for both domestic and international orders.
To provide accurate shipping costs, buyers must supply a full physical street address. A final invoice will include:
artwork cost
shipping cost
sales tax (if applicable)
Standard Shipping Method
Shipments are sent via FedEx or UPS, per buyer preference.
Why FedEx Is Used
FedEx’s international service includes:
customs processing
brokerage
VAT handling (if applicable)
door‑to‑door delivery
This ensures the artwork clears customs smoothly and arrives without delays.
Using the Client’s FedEx Account
If preferred, Jaren will ship using a client’s FedEx account. When this option is chosen:
Shipping charges will not appear on Jaren’s invoice
The client is responsible for all FedEx fees, customs charges, duties, VAT, and any additional costs billed by FedEx
Jaren will coordinate pickup scheduling, but all financial arrangements with FedEx remain solely the client’s responsibility
Working With Client‑Selected Art Handlers
If a buyer hires an art handler or specialized shipping service, Jaren will coordinate scheduling and provide access for pickup. All financial arrangements, insurance, and service agreements with the art handler are solely between the buyer and the contracted carrier. Jaren does not assume responsibility for the performance, costs, or obligations of third‑party shipping services.
Customs, Duties & Taxes
All customs fees, import duties, VAT, and related taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Jaren does not pay, reimburse, or advance any customs‑related charges.
Shipping Timeline
Artwork ships within 5 business days of bank confirmation that funds have cleared.
10. Returns & Damage Claims
All sales are final once artwork has shipped.
If artwork arrives damaged, the buyer must notify Jaren within 7 days and provide digital photographs (JPG format). FedEx requires JPG images for claims processing.
Once documentation is received, a replacement or appropriate resolution will be arranged with the carrier and their insurance policies.
1. Copyright & Reproduction Rights
All artwork, images, and digital files remain the intellectual property of the artist. Purchasing artwork does not grant reproduction rights. No image may be copied, reproduced, or used commercially without written permission.
12. Privacy
Information submitted through Inquiry Forms is used solely for communication regarding artwork, commissions, or project requests. Your information is never sold or shared.
13. NFT Policy
NFT‑related projects must be conducted through established, reputable marketplaces such as OpenSea, Rarible, or Foundation.
NFTs are minted at the moment of purchase using a lazy‑minting process. This places the minting fee on the buyer and permanently records Jaren as the creator in the smart contract, ensuring accurate provenance and preserving the artist’s royalty on all future resales.
These policies ensure a fair, honest, and secure experience for both parties and protect digital assets from misuse.
